felt art painting, felt landscape, wash day

Felt art painting. This felt landscape was made using the wet felting method. In order to achieve such detail I first had to needle felt all of the merino fibres in to position and then carefully wet felt them to make a strong fabric. When the felt was dry I added lots of stitching, by both machine and hand, to bring the picture 'alive'.
The image shows a Welsh hillside on washday. You can see the lines of laundry blowing in the wind near to the traditional stone cottages which are gaily painted. The sheep are grazing on the hillside and a silken cloud floats overhead.
The artwork comes already stretched on an artists canvas and is ready to hang. It does not need to be framed and the felt goes right around the sides of the canvas.

size 16 x 16 inches

abstract hare, felt hare picture, felt painting

abstract hare in the grass. This picture was made using the wet felting method. In order to achieve such detail all of the fibres had to be needle felted in to position first so that they didn't move around during the wet felting. When it was dry I added lots of free machine and hand stitching.
I always think of hares as mystical creatures and have depicted this one settling down in the grass as dawn breaks. The grasses are sprinkled with hand stitched flowers.

This felt picture comes already stretched on an artists canvas and is ready for you to hang. The felt goes right around the sides of the canvas so no frame is needed.

size 20 x 16 inches

felt flower picture, felt art, spring flowers

Felt flower picture showing bright and cheerful flowers on a rich blue background.
This picture has been wet felted and is small enough to prop on a shelf or can be wall hung. To add definition to the flowers I have added free machine stitching around them.
It comes already stretched on to an artists canvas and does not need to be framed as the felt goes all around the sides of the canvas as shown in the photographs.

size 5 x 7 inches
ready to display
