Felt art painting. This felt landscape was made using the wet felting
method. In order to achieve such detail I first had to needle felt all
of the merino fibres in to position and then carefully wet felt them to
make a strong fabric. When the felt was dry I added lots of stitching,
by both machine and hand, to bring the picture 'alive'. The image
shows a Welsh hillside on washday. You can see the lines of laundry
blowing in the wind near to the traditional stone cottages which are
gaily painted. The sheep are grazing on the hillside and a silken cloud
floats overhead. The artwork comes already stretched on an artists
canvas and is ready to hang. It does not need to be framed and the felt
goes right around the sides of the canvas.
