OCTOPUS GYOTAKU Sensu Japanese Hand Fan - Unique and Beautiful

A very unique and beautiful Japanese style hand-fan with one of our 'Gyotaku' images of an Octopus and Coral printed onto the rice paper surface. The fan is an original, custom design, unlike most fans but still retaining an original and traditional feel.

The calligraphy reads, “外柔内剛" which literally means 'gentle but firm'. This describes the octopus physically, but can also portray a type of virtuos human personality.

The fan roughly measures about 12"x14", has a dark stained wood handle, and a red ornament to accent and complete its stunning display.
